NOT EVERY THING IS LOST

Five years ago, I had an experience that made me sure that there are certain thing .which cannot be lost in my life no matter what happens. In 2003, I came to the USA .I applied to study in English language program to continue my master’s degree. While I was living in USA, I faced many problems related to my education and including many visa rules and requirement, that were changing Therefore, I decided to start researching for solutions to complete my goal of why I came here.

Now I would like to explain what happened to my scholarship since the beginning and the level of education that I have reached until now. Firstly, when I came back to the USA, my visa was F2, which means that I could study only as apart time student. I had heard that I could not study full time with F2 visa. After that, I tried to search for any way to change my visa status. Luckily, I found the solution; I decided to go back to my country and change my visa from F2 toF1 .I came back to the USA I started to study my English program to achieve my goal. After I finished four levels out of five in an English institute in TULSA, Ok, I skipped the last level since my husband and I were having a medical procedure. After we finished the procedure, we went back to our country in 2005.

Six years later, my husband was granted a new scholarship to complete his PHD in software engineering at SMU University in DALLAS, TX. Now I have another chance to complete my goal and study for a master’s degree in fine arts or graphic design. Prior to departing to the USA, my husband sponsor informed us that I have a scholarship, too.

Unfortunately, when we arrived in the USA, the SAUDI ARABIAN cultural mission refused to pay the tuition for my English program since I studied from 2003 until 2005.they will only pay for graduate studies; thus, I need to pay the English program tuition from own pocket.

I was calling my sponsor to extend my English program for scholarship and fortunately, my advisor approved it. Now I am on my way to complete my goals, and my dream will come true. However, something came up after that. Since, I studied in the English program at SMU for one year there. After that, my cultural mission refused to pay for one more semesters, which was last one t needed .After that, I have taken IELTS exam four times .when I get a high score in the IELTS exam, I will receive full admission at SMU UNVERSITY .After that ,my cultural mission can pay for my graduate studies. Finally, if I finish my English program, I can start my dream .which is studying my master’s degree. This is my last chance to achieve my goal by MAY; 2012.When I pass my ILETS exam, so all my dream will come true. We all agree that education is one of the most important things in our lives. I think not everything is lost if I keep trying to learn new things. I assume that I will achieve what I want.

Inspiring Story

Thanks Shorouq for your inspiring story.

With your perseverance, determination and your persistence, you will be rewarded in the end.

Just keeep on doing it and you will make it.

In the words of Calvin Coolidge,

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race".

Let me know how I can be of help to you.

Good luck to both of you.
